Mary C. Hewitt

Mary C. Hewitt, 89, of Syracuse, IN (Papakeechie Lake) passed away at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 30, 2012 at her home. She was born on December 25, 1922 in Toledo, OH to Nicholas & Kathryn (Smitzer) Isel.

She grew up in Toledo and graduated from high school there. On November 10, 1943 she married David L. Hewitt who preceded her on September 2, 1999. She lived in Farmington, MI for many years & Florida from 1984-2000 before moving to Syracuse. She was a homemaker and raised in the Catholic Church.

She is survived by:
Daughter – Mary Ann Grainer of Royal Oak, MI
1 Son – David (wife, Lori) Hewitt of Syracuse
2 Grand & 3 Gt. Grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter - Patricia Trepler, 2 sisters – Sarah Davis & Lena Hawn, & 2 brothers – John & Ross Isel

Private family services will be held at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN with Fr. Richard Hire of the St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church officiating. Burial will take place with her husband at Arlington National Cemetery near Washington D.C.

Memorial bequest may be given to Donor’s choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
