Maxine Helen Harreld, 96, of Leesburg, IN passed away at 5:20 p.m. on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 in her residence. She was born on January 17, 1916 in Marion, IN to Russell & Myrtle (Hamaker) Kessler.
She graduated in 1933 from Marion High School and on January 16, 1937 in Marion she married Robert Sterling Harreld who preceded her in death on February 3, 2004. She was the former
owner / operator of Harreld’s Golfland in Marion and Indian Hills Golf Course in Leesburg, IN and she formerly worked at Hill’s Department Store and Foster Forbes in Marion. She lived in Marion until 1974 when she moved to Leesburg.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Leesburg; Lake Tippecanoe Property Owners Association where she received the Distinguished Lake Citizen’s Award in 2000 and was a founding member and past president of the Tippecanoe Women’s Association. She formerly was affiliated Morris Chapel United Methodist Church & Highland Avenue United Methodist Church both of Marion.
She is survived by:

3 Sons – Robert “Bob’ (wife, Renee) Harreld of Leesburg, Donald (wife, Mary) Harreld of Albion & Jack (wife Sharon) Harreld of Munford, TN
9 Grandchildren – Jay & Dottie Harreld of Fort Worth, TX; Mark & Judy Harreld of Aurora, IL; Angie & Bill Kaht of Burlington, KY; Kristen & Mitchell Kittlaus of Chicago, IL; Brian & Leslie Harreld of Dexter, MI; Kevin & Lisa Harreld of Zionsville, IN; Jake & Courtney Harreld of Fishers, IN; Jessica Bynum of Vine Grove, KY; Matthew Bynum of Columbia, MO

She was preceded by her parents, husband, sister – Mildred Walton & 2 brothers – Bill & Louis Kessler
Visitation will be from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd 13 & C.R. 500N, North Webster, IN.  Funeral services will follow at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday in the funeral home with Rev. William Lytle of the New Life Community Church in Marion officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 7, 2012 at Gardens of Memory, 11201 S. Marion Rd. – 35, Marion, IN 46952 in the chapel.

Memorial bequest may be given to Lake Tippecanoe Property Owners Association, P.O. Box 224, Leesburg, IN 46538. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and cemetery.
