Michael Ray McCord, age 41 of Palestine, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Saturday, March 20, 2021.
Born in Warsaw on January 17, 1980, he was the son of Terry McCord and Cheryl (Heeter) Pitts. He attended Tippecanoe Valley High School and held several positions, working most recently as a painter for TEK Coat and Spray in South Whitley.
He is remembered as a father, son, brother and fun-loving friend, Mike, as many knew him, will be dearly missed by many and is also remembered for his ornery, fun-loving spirit. He enjoyed time with friends and family and adored time spent with his children. He also enjoyed wrestling, racing and camping.
Those who survive include his parents: mother, Cheryl (John Rhoads) Pitts of Mentone and father, Terry McCord of Warsaw; children: Maya, Sarah, Sage, Samantha, Mikey Jr., Ellianna, Ethan, Emberlee; brother, Phillip McCord of Pierceton; sisters, Melissa Shaw of Claypool and Morgan (Geremy) Spicer of Greenville, OH; step-sister, Megan Cromes of Bradford, OH and paternal grandmother, Joann McCord of Warsaw. He is also survived by a large extended family and several nieces and nephews with whom he was very close. He was preceded in passing by his maternal grandparents and by his paternal grandfather.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Saturday, March 27, 2021 from Noon to 2 p.m. Michael's funeral service will follow at 2 p.m.
