Michael Eugene Byrd, 65, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 9:40 a.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Syracuse, IN. He was born on October 3, 1950 in Elkhart, IN to Archie O. & Miriam A. (Pfeffley) Byrd.
He was a lifetime Syracuse area resident and graduated in 1970 from Wawasee High School in Syracuse. He previously worked at Millennium Industries in Ligonier and Coachman Industries in Syracuse.
He was a member of the N.R.A. and an avid motorcycle fan.
He is survived by:
Son – Tad Vandermark of Syracuse
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother – Clifford E. Byrd.
Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd. 15, Warsaw, IN. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 10, 2016 at Syracuse Cemetery, Mill St, Syracuse, IN with Pastor Brad Cox of the Wawasee Lakeside Chapel officiating. Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse is in charge of arrangements.
