Michael K. “Mike” Elwood, 61, of North Webster, IN (formerly of New Haven, IN) met his Savior, Jesus, at 5:40 a.m. on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home in Fort Wayne, IN after a long battle with cancer. He was born on October 11, 1950 in New Haven, IN to Roy M. & Donna J. (Graber) Elwood.
He graduated in 1969 from New Haven High School and was married on November 22, 1969 in Fort Wayne, IN to Janet Rose Eckert who survives. He was a lifetime New Haven area resident and part-time Webster Lake resident for the past 25 years. He was the owner / operator of Elwood’s Appliance, Inc. in Waynedale, IN for over 40 years.
He was a member of the Sons of American Legion Post 253 in North Webster where he held many different positions and served as Commander from 2007 – 2008. He also attended the Salem Community Missionary Church in Wilmot.
He loved his family, his savior, his country, his small country church, and the lake with all it had to offer.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. on Saturday July 7, 2012 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & C.R. 500N, North Webster. Memorial services will follow at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor John Morgan of the church officiating.
