Michelle L. Baker, age 52, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 11, 2017 at 10:09 p.m. at Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.
She was born on January 23, 1965 in Kosciusko County to Donald Reid and Beverly J. (Rathbun) Reid. She spent her lifetime in Kosciusko County and was a 1983 graduate of Whitko High School.
On November 4, 1989 Michelle was married to Robert Baker in Pierceton. They would share 28 years together.
Michelle was fun loving with a good sense of humor. She was a faithful member of Cook’s Chapel Church. She enjoyed art and crafts, especially drawing and painting. She taught for several years at South Whitley and had taught art for home schooling cooperatives. She loved children and after welcoming her son, Patrick, to the family, she homeschooled him and started a day care at home. A Girl Scout herself, she had worked for the Girl Scouts as a registrar and as a counselor at Camp Singing Hills. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister and wife, who will be dearly missed.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Robert; son, Patrick (Donna) Baker of Claypool; 5 grandchildren: Matthew, Kaitlyn, Nathan, Kayla, & Kaniah; 2 great-grandsons; mother, Beverly Reid of Pierceton; brother, Monty Reid of Dallas, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.
Michelle was preceded in death by her father, Donald Reid, 2010, sister, Misty Reid, 1975, and her grandparents.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation and sharing of memories on Friday, December 15th from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 E. Sheridan Street, Warsaw.
A funeral service celebrating Michelle’s life will take place on Saturday, December 16th at 10:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior at the funeral home. Pastor Earl Futch, Cook’s Chapel Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery, Wilmot, Indiana.
