Mildred Louise Eckert, 97, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 7:50 AM in Betz Nursing Home in Auburn, Indiana.
Mildred, daughter of Otis and Mary (Cartwright) Albertson, was born February 18, 1917 in Kosciusko County, Indiana. She was a 1935 graduate of Atwood High School, Atwood, Indiana. Mildred and Edward T. Eckert were joined in marriage on April 19, 1935. She was a homemaker who lived most of her life in Atwood and Fort Wayne, Indiana. Doris attended New Beginnings Church in Atwood.
Survivors include a son: Larry L. Eckert of Auburn; 12 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.
Edward, her husband of 60 years, passed away. She was also preceded in death by 2 sons: Ron Eckert and Dennis Eckert.
There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at 10 AM in Harrison Center Cemetery, Etna Green, Indiana. Pastor Dennis Bollenbacher of New Beginnings Church will officiate.
Gifts in Mildred's memory may be given to a charity of choice or simple acts of kindness may be done for others in her memory.
