Mildred Hope Sanders

Mildred Hope Sanders, age 95 of Warsaw, passed away quietly on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at 10:15 p.m. in her home.
Born Mildred Hope Carbiener in North Liberty on December 26, 1923, she was the daughter of Raymond L. and Lalia E. (Reed) Carbiener. She was a graduate of North Liberty High School and went on to pursue training as a nurse. She graduated from Epworth Memorial Hospital’s School of Nursing, South Bend in 1945.
The following year, Mildred was united in marriage to Eugene H. Sanders. The two made there home in North Liberty and Lakeville for many years, living in South Bend for some time and in Austin, Tx., too. They retired to Warsaw in 1991. Eugene preceded Mildred in passing on October 19, 2006; their three children survive.
As a nurse, Mildred was naturally a giving, caring person. She could be quiet and enjoyed time spent reading and crocheting. She was previously a member of Community Grace Brethren Church, was strong in her faith and had an earnest love for the word of the Lord.
Those who survive with memories to cherish include daughter, Janet (Darrell) Johnson of Warsaw; sons, Kent (Sharry) Sanders of Austin, TX and Greg (Sharon) Sanders of Birmingham, AL; five grandsons: Darryl Sanders of Austin, Brad Sanders of Columbia, MO, Aaron and Ryan Sanders of Birmingham and Scott Johnson of Carmel; granddaughter, Jennifer Mueller of Katy, TX; five great-grandsons: Jordan Sanders of Austin, Brody and Ethan Sanders of Katy and Parker and Tommy Sanders of Birmingham; four great-granddaughters: Shelby and Lauren Sanders of Austin, Alexis and Whitney Sanders of Birmingham and brother, Ray Carbiener of South Bend. In addition to her husband, those who preceded Mildred in passing include her brother, Gene Carbiener and sister, Eldonna Donathan.
Private services are planned. Mildred will be buried in Fair Cemetery, North Liberty alongside her husband. Titus Funeral Home of Warsaw assisted the family.
Memorials may be given to Angels of Mercy Home Care, 2190 North Point Drive, Warsaw, IN 46582 or to Kosciusko Home Care and Hospice, 1515 Provident Drive, Suite 250, Warsaw, IN 46580.
