Mildred J. (Kirkpatrick) Folds

Mildred J. "Mid" (Kirkpatrick) Folds, 79, of Syracuse, IN died at 6:28 a.m. on Sunday, December 6, 2009 at the home of her daughter in Memphis, TN. She was born on June 4, 1930 in Syracuse, IN to Guy & Beulah (Castner) Bushong.

She lived most of her life in the Kosciusko & Elkhart County area before moving to Memphis, TN 4 years ago due to declining health to be with her daughter. She and her late husband wintered for several years in Lakeland, FL. She graduated from Wakarusa High School and then graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington. She was married on October 19, 1952 in Syracuse, IN to Fred C. Kirkpatrick who preceded her in 1984, and on April 27, 1985 in Lakeland, FL she married Rev. Joseph B. Folds who preceded her in 2001.

She formerly attended the Indian Village United Methodist Church in Cromwell, IN and was a member of the Psi Iota Psi Social Sorority in Goshen & Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. She also had extensive involvement in both men and women's prison ministries in Indiana.

She is survived by:
2 Daughters - Sue Kirkpatrick of Goshen & Kay Kirkpatrick of Memphis, TN;
2 Sons - Mike (wife, Cara) Kirkpatrick of Eugene, OR & Kevin (wife, Judy) Kirkpatrick of Greenwood, IN;
2 Step Children;
6 Grand - Dustin Kirkpatrick, Molly Kirkpatrick, Glenn Kirkpatrick, Chelsea Kirkpatrick, Dusty Snell & Amber Snell, 1 Gt. Grandson - Logan Snell, 8 Step Grand, & 7 Step Gt. Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, and a brother - Brent Bushong.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 13, 2009 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN with Rev. Duane Ginder of the Indian Village United Methodist Church officiating. Private family burial will follow in the Syracuse Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 hour (1:00 -2:00 p.m.) prior to services at the funeral home on Sunday.
