Monty G. Lackey passed away just after midnight on June 19, 2016 in Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was 73 years old.
Although he had lived in the area of Warsaw, Indiana most of his life, he was born in Rochester, Indiana on April 13, 1943. He was the son of Robert Lackey and Mary Lou (Fisher) Lackey.
Monty served with the United States Army, stationed in Germany. He was also a self-employed landscape contractor.
Survivors include: mother, Mary Lou Laurino (companion, Sammie Vickers) of Warsaw; step-mother, Norma Lackey of Silver Lake, Indiana; two daughters and sons-in-law, Heather (Liberty) Reichert of Bourbon, Indiana and Kisten (Larry) Born of Colorado Springs, Colorado; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael (Lynn) Lackey of Warsaw, Dewey (Dee) Lackey of Florida, Dan (Deb) Lackey of Claypool, Indiana, and Nick (Nancy) Laurino of Indianapolis, Indiana; six sisters and four brothers-in-law, Charlene (Brad) Witham of Mentone, Indiana, Kathy Cutler of Warsaw, Jane Lackey of Akron, Indiana, Renee (Charlie) Gibson of Warsaw, Toni (Kevin) Wilson of Warsaw and Peggy (Earl) Marsilett of Warsaw; seven grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.
Monty was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lackey.
A graveside service celebrating the life of Monty Lackey will be held at Warsaw's Oakwood Cemetery, Friday, August 5th, 2016 at 1 p.m. Military graveside honors will be conducted by Warsaw's American Legion Post #49 and VFW Post #1126.
The family has asked that memorial gifts in Monty’s memory be directed to a charity of the donor’s choosing or that simple acts of kindness be done for others.
