My Hoa T. Gehlhausen

My Hoa Thi Gehlhausen, 71, of New Carlisle, IN (formerly of Syracuse, IN) passed away at 1:11 p.m. on Friday, April 17, 2020 at La Porte Hospital in La Porte, IN. She was born on August 1, 1948 in Saigon, Vietnam.

She grew up in Vietnam and attended public schools there. She was married on July 25, 1974 in Marion, IN to Richard J. Gehlhausen Jr. who preceded her on October 21, 2003. She moved to North Webster / Syracuse area in 1974, and lived in Fort Wayne for a short time before moving to New Carlisle. She was a former co-owner and operator with her husband of North Webster Auto Parts for many years and formerly worked at Silgan Plastic in Ligonier for 11 years.

She formerly attended the St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Syracuse.

She is survived by:

Daughter – Lisa Gehlhausen of Fort Wayne

Son – Phil (Stephanie) Gehlhausen of New Carlisle

2 Granddaughters

Sister – Ly (Allen) Young of Pasadena, CA

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister.

**Due to the current, unprecedented guidelines limiting public gatherings because of the COVID-19 virus, there will be a private family visitation and graveside service at Mock Cemetery in North Webster. A public memorial service to celebrate her life will be scheduled at a later date.** Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & CR 500N, North Webster, IN is in charge of arrangements.
