Nancy Ann McCartney passed away unexpectedly Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 9:23 PM in the emergency room at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, Indiana. She was 67.
Nancy was born May 13, 1948 in Lisbon, Ohio to Herbert and Margaret (Martin) Allmon. She was a 1966 graduate of Crestview High School in Columbiana, Ohio.
She and Ancil Loye McCartney were married June 1, 1966 in Lisbon. He would precede her death December 15, 2014.
Although formerly of Warsaw, she was an Indianapolis resident where she had been a house parent at Children’s Guardian Home for 24 years.
Nancy was an avid reader who enjoyed watching court shows, the Food Network and the Cooking Channel on TV. She loved her children and grandchildren.
Nancy is survived by 2 sons: John McCartney of Indianapolis and James and his wife, Roxie, McCartney of Franklin, Indiana; 1 daughter: Theresa and her husband, Carl, Howard, Indianapolis; 2 sisters: Jane Swinehart, Warsaw and Kathleen Marvel of Mishawaka, Indiana; a brother: Wayne and his wife, Jocy, Allmon of Decatur, Indiana; 6 grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Ancil, Nancy’s death was preceded by a sister: Alice Mae Allmon and a brother: Daniel Allmon.
Friends may visit with the family from 10 – 11 AM, Monday, January 18th, at TITUS FUNERAL HOME, 2000 E. Sheridan Street, Warsaw, Indiana 46580. A graveside service will follow at 11:30 AM in Palestine Cemetery. Pastor Jack Worth of Dutchtown United Brethren Church will officiate.
The family has asked that gifts in Nancy’s memory be directed to Dutchtown United Brethren Church, 4057 E. 300N, Warsaw, Indiana 46582.
