Noraine J. Stevens, known to most as Nora, passed away quietly on Thursday, July 16, 2020 just after 4 p.m. in Fort Wayne’s Lutheran Hospital. Age 74 at the time of her death, she was a resident of Chapman Lake.
Nora was one of nine children born to the late Charles and Belle (Crum) Rickman. She was born in Floyd County, Kentucky on July 30, 1945. Nora was married to Robert “Bob” Stevens on March 13, 1987. Their thirty-three-year union brought many happy memories and a blended family including six children, many grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Nora is remembered for her ability to laugh and have a good time. She was fun loving, kind and caring. She enjoyed trying her luck in gaming at Four Winds and Blue Chip casinos and enjoyed time spent on the lake, boating and fishing. She loved Christmas and is also remembered for her cooking and for her delicious holiday meals in addition to her beautifully decorated home. To wind down, she liked to tend to her flower and vegetable gardens, often canning the vegetables she grew.
In addition to her husband, Bob who survives at home on Chapman Lake, she is survived by sons: Tony (Pam) Lynch of Smithfield, NC, Daniel (Sue) Lynch of Pierceton and David (Marie) Stevens of Upland; daughters, Rachel (Todd) Gosc of South Bend and Kim Masura of Warsaw; brother, Paul (Barb) Rickman of Jackson, MI and sisters, Nellie Hoene of Chapman Lake and Bonita Rickman of Tampa, Fl. Also surviving are grandchildren: Ashley Hagelgans, Nickolas Lynch, Aimee Starner, Brad Hernley, Matt Hernley, Max Gosc, Megan Gosc, Sawyer Stevens, Chandler Cone, and Nathan Masura and several great-grandchildren. Nora was preceded in passing by her son, Brian Rickman; sisters, Rosemary Hall and Lettie Jo Lindsey and brothers: Harry Rickman, Billy Rickman and Charles Rickman, Jr..
