Norma Peters

Norma Peters, 64, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 4:35 p.m. on Friday, November 20, 2015 at Avalon Village Healthcare in Ligonier, IN. She was born on October 3, 1951 in Michigan to Harry & Dorothy A. (Gouplski) Prybo.

She grew up in Michigan, attended high school there and was married in April 1986 in East Stroudsburg, PA to Sherwood T. “Tom” Peters who survives. She moved to the Syracuse area 20 years ago and retired from Miller’s Merry Manor in Syracuse after 18 years.

She was a life member of the Eagles Lodge in Syracuse and formerly attended the Wawasee Lakeside Chapel.

She is survived by:

Husband – Tom Peters of Syracuse

Step Daughter – Sharon Peters of Harrisburg, PA

Step Son – Sherwood Peters Jr. of Pocono, PA

Several Step Grand & Step Gt. Grandchildren

3 Sisters – Debra (Robert) Rector of Pierceton, Denise (Mark) Mast of New Paris, & Deanna Schisler of Syracuse

Brother - Tom Prybo of Tucson, AZ

3 Step Brothers – Rusty Richardson, Jimmy Richardson, & Dukie Richardson all of South Bend

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother – Ricky Richardson.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN.  Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd. 15, Warsaw, IN.

Preferred memorials may be given to New Hope Pet Rescue, 9326 N. 500E, Syracuse, IN 46567. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
