Norma F. Rush, 88, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 12:10 p.m. on Thursday, June 10, 2010 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Syracuse. She was born on April 16, 1922 in Mansfield, Ohio to William E. & Mildred (McGregor) Fowler.
She was a lifetime Wabash and Kosciusko County area resident. She graduated in 1940 from Roann High School and in 1944 from Manchester College. She was married on April 17, 1949 in North Manchester, IN to Paul A. Rush who survives.
She retired in 1982 from Wawasee Community School Corporation as an English, Spanish and Latin Teacher. She formerly taught at Mentone, Milford, Larwill, Pierceton & Rochester Schools. She was a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church in Syracuse, United Methodist Women, PEO, Retired Teachers Association, Delta Kappa Gamma, & Ladies of the Round Table.
She is survived by:
2 Daughters – Mrs. Patrick (Evelyn Ann) Harding of West Lafayette, IN & Barbara Rush of Indianapolis, IN
1 Son – William (wife, Deborah) Rush of Fort Wayne, IN
4 Grandchildren & 1 Gt. Granddaughter
1 Sister – Margaret Martin of Fife Lake, MI
Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at the Mentone Cemetery in Mentone, IN with Rev. Michael Neff officiating. A Celebration of Life Service will also be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday July 31, 2010 at the St. Andrews United Methodist Church, 1413 N. Long Dr., Syracuse, IN with Rev Mark Eastway & Rev. Michael Neff of the church officiating.
Memorial bequests may be given to the St. Andrews United Methodist Church, PEO, or United Methodist Women. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
