Norman D. “Norm” Johnson, 88, of Warsaw, IN passed away at 2:10 p.m. on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at his residence. He was born on May 6, 1928 in New Philadelphia, OH to Delbert & Lula (Rufener) Johnson.
He graduated in 1946 from Sardis High School in Sardis, OH and was married on July 2, 1949 in New Matamoras, OH to Nina Beryl Ring who preceded him on October 31, 2011. He retired from Conflo Manufacturing Inc., in Wadsworth, OH as a machinist and formerly worked as a farmer. He moved to Warsaw 4 years ago from New Matamoras, OH to be near his son & daughter in law.
He attended the Winona Grace Brethren Church in Winona Lake, IN & Greenbrier United Methodist Church in New Matamoras, OH, and was a former member of Rittman Grace Brethren Church in Rittman, OH.
He is survived by:
Son – Darrell (Janet) Johnson of Warsaw
Grandson – Timothy Scott Johnson of Fort Wayne
Brother – Jerry Johnson of Lakeland, FL
18 nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother – Alvin Johnson, and sister – Ruth Nething.
Graveside services will take place on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 in the Ring Cemetery in New, Matamoras, OH. Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd. 15, Warsaw, IN is in charge of arrangements.
Preferred memorials may be given to the Grace College Sport Management Program, 200 Seminary Dr., Winona Lake, IN 46590.
