Octavian “O.C.” Plymale, Jr., 88 of North Webster, Indiana, passed peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte, Florida. He was born in 1926 in Muncie, Indidana, to Octavian & Waneda (Waters) Plymale.
O.C. graduated in 1945 from Cowan High School in Cowan, Indiana, and served in the United States Army. He was married for 67 years to the love of his life, Laurajene Haines, who survives. He worked for 10 years at Ball Brothers, sold real estate, and built houses, all while working at Indiana Bell Telephone Company. He retired in 1981 from Indiana Bell Telephone Company in Muncie after 27 years of service as an equipment supervisor. He was a North Webster summer resident since 1955, permanently moved to the area in 1981 from Muncie and wintered in Leesburg, Florida, and Port Charlotte for many years.
O.C. was a Past Associate Grand Guardian of Indiana Job’s Daughters, having served a number of offices in the Indiana Grand Guardian Council. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Port Charlotte, Blue Masonic Lodge #46 in Muncie, Scottish Rite in Ocala, FL (formerly a member in Fort Wayne), American Legion in Muncie, and York Rite in Muncie. He was a former member of the Order of Eastern Star in Muncie. He attended Country Bible Church in North Webster.
O.C. served each community that he lived in through various positions. He served on the board of the Salvation Army, and volunteered as a business advisor for Junior Achievement, both in Muncie. He served for 10 years as a volunteer at Leesburg Regional Medical Center in Leesburg, Florida. He served with Meals On Wheels in Port Charlotte, Florida, until his health declined. Together with his buddies Don Minear and Neal Christner he formed the Mission of Love Foundation in North Webster to help those in need.

Daughter – Jill (Robert) Lee of Port Charlotte
2 Granddaughters – Chelsea Lee & Hannah Lee
Sister – Virginia (Harold) Cross of Muncie
Several nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 7 CR 500N, North Webster, Indiana, with pastor Myron Drent of the Country Bible Church officiating.
