Otis R. "Dick" Holderread

Otis Richard “Dick” Holderread 76, of Mishawaka, IN passed away at 10:28 a.m. on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Elkhart General Hospital. He was born on March 27, 1937 in Cromwell, IN to Merle F. and Garnet Alice (McDonald) Holderread.

He grew up in Milford and graduated in 1955 from Milford High School.  In 1955 he married Margaret Scroggins who preceded him in death and on July 18, 1964 he married Bettye Evans who preceded him in January 2009. He retired from Patriot Homes as an electrician after many years of service and formerly worked at several other RV manufacturing companies in the area. He lived in Elkhart for many years until he moved to Mishawaka.

He formerly attended the Dunlap United Methodist Church in Elkhart.

He is survived by:
3 Sons -  Rick (Jerri) Holderread of Goshen, IN, Dave (Nancy) Holderread of Lansing, MI & Roger Holderread of Goshen
7 Grand, 3 Gt. Grand, 3 Step Grand, and 3 Step Gt. Grandchildren
2 Sisters – Carol (Jake) Jackson of Nappanee and Jean Holderread of Arlington, TX
Brother – Tom (Jolene) Holderread of Milford

He was preceded by his parents, and 2 sons - Charles and Robert Holderread

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday March 13, 2014 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2014 in the funeral home with Pastor Joe Smith of the church officiating. Private family burial will take place in the Milford Cemetery.

Memorial bequest may be given to the Dick Holderread Funeral Fund, c/o Owen Family Funeral Home 1001 S. Huntington St. Syracuse, IN 46567. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
