Owen Marion Snyder, 76, of Cromwell, IN passed away at 5:43 p.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Kosciusko Community Hospital in Warsaw, IN. He was born on September 24, 1938 in Fort Wayne, IN to Marion & Orleta (Schwartz) Snyder.

He grew up in Fort Wayne, graduated from South Side High School and was in the Army National Guard. On November 21, 1980 in Cromwell, IN he was married to Peggy Eileen (Peace) Overfelt who preceded him in death on July 19, 2007 and lived most of his life in the Kosciusko / Noble County area except for 9 years in Ashby, MA. He formerly worked at General Electric in Fort Wayne for 12 years and was a self-employed painter.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge in Syracuse.

He is survived by:
Daughter – Sheila Pelletier of Templeton, MA
2 Sons – Gregory Snyder of Leominster, MA & Phillip Snyder of Warsaw
10 Grand, 8 Gt. Grandchildren
3 Step Daughters - Debbie Smith of Indianapolis, Darla (Odell) Frasure of Milford, Marcia (Marty) Nading of Indianapolis
Step Son – Dan (Cathy) Overfelt of Waynetown, IN & Mike (Jill) Overfelt of Nappanee
Several Step Grand & Step Gt. Grandchildren

He was preceded by his parents, wife, daughter Linda Stout, step son – Mike Overfelt, step daughter – Marlene Overfelt & brother - Neil Snyder.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at the funeral home with Pastor William Whitaker of the Warsaw Family Worship Center officiating. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday in the I.O.O. F. Cemetery, 1109 Hartzell Rd., New Haven, IN.

Memorial bequest may be given to Fraternal Order of Eagles (Thanksgiving Fund), 12889 N. Kern Rd., Syracuse, IN 46567. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
