Patricia Ann Aitken, age 87 and a longtime resident of Warsaw, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2020 at Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on August 17, 1932 in Wabash, IN and was the daughter of the late Pierre Marvin and Hazel (Bush) Marvin. Pat, as most knew her, was a 1950 graduate of North Manchester High School. Professionally, she worked for several years with NIPSCO in customer service and for Controls in North Manchester. She retired from Controls in 1997 with more than twenty-five years on their timer production line.
On April 13, 1973, Pat was united in marriage to William “Bill” Aitken. Together the pair shared forty-seven years, though their families had been friends for many years prior.
Pat was an exceptional housekeeper and their home was always spotless, even when she was cooking and baking – which she loved to do. Visitors rarely went hungry thanks to her casseroles and made-from-scratch cakes. She and Bill loved to travel and spent several years wintering in Tucson. She is remembered for her kind, caring and compassionate nature.
Those who survive include her husband, Bill Aitken of Warsaw; daughters, Ann (Dennis) Bollenbacher of Rockford, OH and Julie Rhodes of North Manchester and stepson, Jim (Lucy) Aitken of Warsaw. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Aaron Rhodes, Darcie Warren, Michael Aitken, Christina Johnson and their families including several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in passing by her parents; a sister, Mary Jane Fisher; stepdaughter Connie Allen and granddaughter, Mindy Allen.
A Life Celebration® visitation will be held at Titus Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 22nd beginning at 11 a.m. At Noon, those in attendance will proceed to Oakwood Cemetery for a graveside service, officiated by Titus Funeral Home’s funeral celebrant, Sharon Brockhaus.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that gifts be directed to Mason Healthcare Center’s Activities department. Please mail gifts to Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center, 900 Provident Drive Warsaw, IN 46580. Condolences may be left for the family at www.TitusFuneralHome.com
