Patricia "Patty" A. Smith, a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away in her Warsaw home on Thursday, January 2, 2025, surrounded by her family at the age of 61. Born on February 27, 1963, to Bill E. Nine and Sue E. (Hatfield) Wade, in Warsaw, Indiana, Patty lived a life that touched the hearts of many.

Patty had a rich and varied career, having worked at Warsaw Coil, served as a Certified Nursing Assistant, and ultimately found her greatest joy in being a homemaker. She was known for her loving nature and stubborn spirit, described by those who knew her as feisty and selfless. Her big heart led her to help anyone in need, and she loved her family fiercely, always placing them at the center of her life.

In her leisure time, Patty found happiness in simple pleasures. She had a special fondness for skunks, keeping them as pets, and was an avid animal lover. Her artistic side blossomed through crafts like coloring and painting. Fond memories of her childhood include hunting mushrooms and picking flowers alongside her father, Bill. Patty also enjoyed thrilling outings to the races and the casino, sharing laughter and joy with those she loved. Her passion for cooking was evident as she delighted in feeding others, often bringing people together around her kitchen table. Many will remember her spirited karaoke sessions, where her enthusiasm shone brightly.

Patty is survived by her devoted mother, Sue E. Wade; her beloved children, Cindi Smith-Carden, AJ Smith, and Tina (Jeremy) Morgan; cherished grandchildren, Tasara (Raymond) Smith, Suzy Adkins, Angelina Adkins, and Gabriella Morgan; as well as her great-grandson, Wyndu Adkins. She is also missed by her siblings, Kenneth (Frythany) Nine and Penny Jo Jaeger, along with her sister-in-law, Tina Smith.

She was predeceased by her father, Bill, and her husband, William "Big Bill" Smith, who both hold a special place in her family's memories.

Titus Funeral Home and Cremation Services is entrusted with Patty’s care. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Titus Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses or to the Kosciusko Cancer Care Fund, 1101 Park Avenue Winona Lake, IN 46590.
