Biography
Paul A. Miller, 88, of Silver Lake, Indiana, passed away Monday, June 30, 2014 at 5:20 AM in Peabody Retirement Community Health Center, North Manchester, Indiana.
Paul was born June 22, 1926 in Landeck, Ohio to Adam and Loretta (Etzkorn) Miller.
He entered the United States Army December 24, 1944 at Fort Hayes, Ohio. After serving in World War II in the Pacific Theater he was honorably discharged November 8, 1946 in Cambridge, Ohio.
Paul started many businesses: Fort Meter Box in Delphos, Ohio; Olympic Bowling Lanes, VanWert, Ohio; Green Spot Garden Center; Shoe Spray Service and most recently a used car lot in Phoenix, Arizona.
Paul was a member Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw, as well as the Elks Lodge and the American Legion in Phoenix.
Survivors include 4 daughters: Marcia (and Dan) Stanley, Silver Lake; Linda (and Brian) Dalton, Stephenson, Australia; Jacqueline Hislop, Indianapolis, Indiana; and Paula (companion, Sarah) Miller, England; 2 sons: Bruce (and Marrianne) Miller, Delafield, Wisconsin; and Jeffery Paul Miller, Warsaw; 6 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and 9 brothers and sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said Monday, July 7th at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw. Father Phil DeVolder, of Sacred Heart will officiate. Military honors will be conducted by Warsaw’s American Legion Post #49 and VFW Post #1126. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
The family has asked that memorial contributions be given to Our Father’s House, 401 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana 46580.
