Paul Smith, 90, of Leesburg, IN passed away at 2:20 a.m. on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Millers Merry Manor in Syracuse. He was born on January 29, 1922 in Hanfield, IN to Arthur & Margaret (McKenzie) Smith.
He graduated in 1940 from Van Buren High School in Van Buren, IN and was married on July 11, 1975 in Pierceton, IN to Betty J. (McVey) Nealis who survives. He moved to the Leesburg area permanently in 1982 from Marion, IN after he had summered there for many years. He was formerly employed at Allied Paper in Marion for several years, managed Handy Andy Food Stores in Marion for many years and was a custodian for Leesburg Elementary School for 2 years.
He was member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 253 in North Webster and he enjoyed watching and feeding the birds.

3 Daughters – Marilyn Bowling of Marion; Mrs. Kevin (Donna) Kern of Milford;
& Mrs. Kim (Paula) Martin of Wabash
1 Son – Don Smith of Holiday, FL
6 Grand & 5 Gt. Grandchildren
1 Sister – Helen Keller of Fort Wayne, IN
He is preceded by his parents, sister – Edith Scott & 2 brothers – Robert & Ralph Smith,
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 27, 2012 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & CR 500N, North Webster. Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Boyer of the North Webster Church of God officiating. Burial services will follow at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the Gardens of Memory Chapel, 11201 S. Marion Rd- 35, Marion, IN.
Memorial bequest may be given to Millers Merry Manor Activities Dept., 500 E. Pickwick Dr., Syracuse, IN 46567. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
