Biography
Paula Jane Sydow passed away Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 10:58 a.m. in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was 67.
Paula was born in Michigan City, Indiana on May 23, 1949 to Harold and Angeline S. (Widelski) Putz. She was a 1968 graduate of Michigan City Elston High School. She was also a graduate of GIA (Gemological Institute of America).
Paula and Larry Sydow were married May 23, 1970 in Michigan City. They would be given the gift of 37 years to share. A Fort Wayne resident, they had also made their home in Warsaw, Indiana and Valparaiso, Indiana. They together owned Sydow Antique Shop in Pierceton, Indiana and also had at one time a shop with the same name in Valparaiso.
She loved to cross stitch and enjoyed gardening. She loved animals and was a canary breeder; at one time, she had 80 canaries. A positive influence to all, Paula was always joyful, caring and selfless. She was a living example of unconditional love.
Survivors include her husband, Larry; brother: Dan Putz of Cincinnati, Ohio; sister: Pamela Putz; 2 granddaughters born in her heart: Winnifred and Gwendolyn; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Family and friends will come together to share memories Monday, November 21st from 10 a.m. – 12 Noon (EST). Following visitation and beginning at 12 Noon a service celebrating Paula’s life will take place in the funeral home. Pastor Jamy Gregory of Warsaw Community Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
The family has asked that gifts in Paula’s memory be directed to Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County, PO Box 1906, Warsaw, Indiana 46581-1906.
