Pauline G. Becher, 90, of Warsaw, Indiana passed away in her home on June 15, 2014. Born in Dallas, Texas on February 27, 1924 to Fred and Lillian (Schlottman) Drees, Pauline was a 1941 graduate of Oak Cliff High School, Dallas.
She and Murlin F. Becher were joined in marriage November 29, 1942 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. They would share 60 joy filled years of marriage until his death December 22, 2002. After Murlin’s years of military service, they moved to Kosciusko County where she remained for over 60 years, first in Claypool, then in Warsaw. Pauline was a proud mother and homemaker who loved her family with all of her heart. Throughout her long life, she enjoyed many hobbies including reading, baking (from famous sweet rolls to cookies of every kind), entertaining guests, sewing, golfing (even getting a hole in one!), and traveling (including trips to Colorado, Canada, Mexico, and even accompanying her granddaughter and grandson-in-law on their honeymoon trip across the country). As a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Pauline spent most of her life sharing her talents with a community she loved very much. Most of all, though, Pauline enjoyed spending time with her family. She was incredibly proud of each member of her growing family both young and old, and she delighted in sharing this with people she would meet. She was fiercely loyal with a kind, loving heart. She had an adventurous spirit that never faded and a smile that could light up a room. Pauline loved to laugh and had a fantastic sense of humor. She touched countless lives and in addition to her family, she will be missed by so many.
Left with hearts full of memories to treasure are three daughters, Linda F. Becher of Elgin, Canada, Kathy (Richard) Williamson of Kansas City, Missouri, and Patty (Mark) Smith of Pierceton, Indiana; five grandchildren, Shawn (Stacy) Williamson, Lori (Paul) Chase, Todd (Jeannette) Williamson, Katie (Jake) Jacquay, and April Williamson (Chris Moon); 6 great grandchildren, Makayla, Ana, Aftyn, Maddox, Abigail, and Hunter; her sister Cecilia Anderson of Sulphur Springs, Texas; and her faithful canine companion Cappi. In addition to her husband, Pauline was preceded in death by grandson, Chad Williamson; great grandson, Jase A.
