Paul Ray Sliter

Paul Ray Sliter, 95, of North Webster, IN (formerly of Milford, IN) passed away at 3:35 p.m. on Monday, February 24, 2020 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Syracuse, IN. He was born on June 10, 1924 in Russellville, AR to George & Beulah (Pierce) Sliter.

He grew up in Arkansas, attended public school in Bradford, AR, and moved to Indiana in 1955. He was married on August 16, 1969 in Warsaw, IN to Myrtle L. (Hollar) Veach who survives. He retired in 1986 as the owner / operator of Sliter Cleaners & Janitorial Service in Milford after 20 years of service.  He formerly employed at Wayne Trailer Factory in Bourbon for 11 years & Richardson Homes in Elkhart for 8 years. He moved to Milford in 1976 and then to North Webster in 2015.

He was a member of the Sanctuary Church in Syracuse.

He is survived by:

Wife – Myrtle Sliter of Milford

3 Sons – Kenny Sliter of Warsaw, Harvey (Julia) Sliter of Plymouth, and Jim (Pat) Sliter

of Conway, AR

2 Daughters – Marie Sliter of Culver & Veada Moon of Hot Springs, AR

Step Son – Russell (Janet) Veach of North Manchester

22 Grand, 22 Gt. Grand, and several Gt. Gt. Grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sons – Paul Jr., John, and Thomas Sliter, sister – Ethel Sliter, 4 brothers – Selmer, Carl, Arthur, & Archie Sliter, and step son - Randy Veach.

Visitation will be from 2:00 – 4:00 & 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 28, 2020 in the funeral home with Pastor Scott Wirebaugh officiating. Burial will follow in the Milford Cemetery.
