Peggy Felts

Peggy Felts, 89, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 8:31 a.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at her daughter’s home in Syracuse. She was born on April 13, 1924 in Decatur, IN to Willie & Opal (Worden) Slusher.

She graduated in 1942 from North Side High School in Fort Wayne, IN and formerly worked for GE in Fort Wayne after graduation. She moved to Syracuse in 1944 and was married on May 8, 1982 in Syracuse to Nelson M. Felts who preceded her on October 8, 2001. She retired in 1987 from the State Bank of Syracuse as an Assistant Vice President after 27 years of service. She wintered in Lake Wales, FL for many years.

She was a member of the Alturas United Methodist Church in Alturas, FL, American Legion Aux Post 223 in Syracuse for 65+ years, and the Knit Wits Craft Club in Lake Wales.

She is survived by:

9 Grandchildren including – Jeff (wife, Chandra) Galloway of Syracuse; Joshua (wife, Jen) Galloway of Monterey, IN; Jerod Galloway of Syracuse; & Ryan (wife, Nicole) Schwalm of Syracuse
Several Gt. Grandchildren including – Kayla (Corey) Green; Keenan Galloway; A.J. Galloway; Rhian Galloway; Tanner Caldwell; Chloe Caldwell; & Kyler Caldwell
1 Gt. Gt. Grandson – Conner Green
Brother – Ned (wife, Zina) Nolan of Monroe, NC
Son in law – Wynn Schwalm of Syracuse
Several Nieces & Nephews

She was preceded by her parents, step father – Fred Nolan, husband, daughter – Colleen Schwalm, 3 sisters – Alice Scarbeary, Charlotte Nolan & Joy Nolan, brother - Richard Nolan, son in law – Gene Feaster.

No public visitation or services will be held. Private family graveside services will be held in the Syracuse Cemetery with Pastor Jane Miller of the Goshen Home Care & Hospice officiating.

Memorial bequest may be given to Goshen Home Care & Hospice, 200 High Park Ave., Goshen, IN 46526. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
