Peter Hodges passed away peacefully at home on January 21,2025 in rural Leesburg, Indiana. He was 93 years old.
Peter was born on May 4, 1931, in Lafayette Indiana to Douglas & Alta (Gant) Hodges. Peter's formative years were spent in the Indianapolis area, where he graduated from Thorntown High School. He further pursued his education at Wabash College, earning a graduate degree.
In his early years, Peter dedicated himself to a career in construction, mastering several crafts along the way. He later discovered his entrepreneurial spirit, founding A&H Paving, which he operated until his retirement in his 70s. Peter's strong-willed nature, combined with his intelligence, made him a respected figure in his profession.
A proud patriot, Peter served honorably in the United States Marines; he took pride in his military service. Following his time in the military, he returned home, where he would become the rock of his family and a faithful member of St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Syracuse. Known for his love of fishing and various hobbies, Peter had a zest for life.
He leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Donna Hodges; she survives at home. He is also survived by sons: Phillip (Joey) Hodges of Indianapolis, Indiana, David Hodges of Clearwater, Florida and Glenn (Lydia) Ragland of Las Crescenta, California; daughter, Leslie (Bill) Lytwyn of Plainfield, Indiana; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Peter is preceded in death by his parents, Douglas & Alta “Isabelle” Hodges; daughter, Lynn Michelle LeMay; son, Stephen Hodges and grandson, Cory Hodges.
A graveside service to honor Peter’s life will be held on February 7, 2025, at 12:30 PM at Washington Park North Cemetery, 2702 Kessler Blvd West Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46228. The family welcomes all who knew and loved Peter to join them in celebrating his life and legacy.
Titus Funeral Home and Cremation Services, in North Webster is entrusted with care of Peter; the staff of Flanner Buchanan Funeral Homes will care for the graveside service.
