Phyllis V. Boocher, formally of Bremen/Wyatt, passed away Friday, September 9, 2022 at Elwood Health and Living in Elwood, IN at the age of 92. Phyllis was born on April 9, 1930 to Howard and Florence Silvey. She married the love of her life, Robert Boocher, on May 23, 1948. He preceded her in death on December 19, 2009. While raising her six children, she worked for Holiday Rambler for 13 years until her retirement.
She will be remembered as a kind and giving soul willing to help family and friends.
Phyllis loved to bake chocolate chip cookies, do crafts, and play games with her older grandchildren. In the later years, she enjoyed being around the younger grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved ALL 17 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. Her nieces and nephews always enjoyed spending time with their Aunt Phyllis.
Phyllis was known for her famous blueberry cheesecake, a constant request for every gathering. She also enjoyed crocheting, completing jigsaw puzzles, and word searches.
Phyllis will be forever missed by her daughters, Becky (William) Hasse of Elwood, Deb (Otis) Eberhardt-Kuntz of Bremen, and Val Kite of Elkhart; sons, Stephen Boocher of Elkhart, Douglas (Glenda) Boocher of Bremen, and Rob Boocher of Goshen; 17 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and brother, John Silvey. She was preceded in death by her husband Bob; parents; sister, Ruth Fowler; infant brother, Richard Silvey; sons-in-law, Tem Kite and Richard Eberhardt; and grandson, Daniel Boocher.
Titus Funeral Home is entrusted with the care of Phyllis. Friends and family may gather at Nappanee Missionary Church, 70417 State Rte 19 N, Nappanee, IN 46550, entrance J on the SE corner, on Friday, September 16, 2022 from 10:00am until the 12:00pm Noon funeral service. Pastor Jason Rhode will be officiating. Burial at Bremen Cemetery will immediately follow.
