Phyllis J. Day, 76, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 8:25 p.m. on Sunday, October 30, 2011 at Millers Merry Manor in Syracuse. She was born on October 4, 1935 in Rowley, IA to Charles & Mildred (Basquin) Grover.
She graduated in 1954 from Clutier High School in Clutier, IA and graduated in 1958 from Prairie Bible Institute in Three Hills, Alberta Canada. She was married on March 19, 1961 in Clutier, IA to Richard I. Day who survives. She was a homemaker and moved to the Syracuse area in 1971 from Iowa. She was a member of Grace Bible Baptist Church in New Paris, IN.
She is survived by:
Husband – Richard Day of Syracuse
2 Daughters – Mrs. Scott (Beth) Clements of Goshen, IN & Mrs. Robert (Eunice) Snyder of Lewistown, MT.
2 Sons – Paul Day of Michigan City & Phillip Day of Syracuse
9 Grandchildren
1 Sister – Mrs. Sam (Ellen) Young of Traer, IA
1 Brother – Tom (wife, Joan) Grover of Belleville, KS
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson – Timothy Clements, 2 sisters – Nancy Ewoldt & Charlotte Jenson
Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 4, 2011 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at the funeral home with Rev. Jon Dicken of the church officiating. Burial will follow in the Syracuse Cemetery.
