Priscilla E. Garner, 93, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 9:20 a.m. on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at her home. She was born on June 15, 1926 in Syracuse, IN to Forrest Vale & Myrtle Marie (Weaver) LeCount.
She was a lifetime area resident and graduated in 1944 from Syracuse High School & from Indiana University School of Nursing in Indianapolis with a R.N. Degree. She was married on August 30, 1946 in Syracuse, IN to Howard E. Juday who preceded her October 30, 1985 and then on June 13, 1998 in Syracuse, IN to Charles L. “Charlie” Garner who survives. She retired registered nurse for Dr. Craig after 30 years in Syracuse, former Director of Nursing for Lakeland Loving Care in Milford, formerly worked for Kosciusko County Home Health Care, and was the school nurse for Wawasee Preparatory School.
She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Syracuse, member of the Cherokee Nation, and was a hospice volunteer.
She is survived by:
Husband – Charlie Garner of Syracuse
Daughter – Marta (Bernard) Emkes of Zionsville, IN
Son-in-law – Garry Ringler of Syracuse
3 Step Sons – Charles (Sandra) Garner, Jr. of Plainfield, IN, John (Gail) Garner of Greencastle, IN, and James (Lorri) Garner of Syracuse
5 Grand, 11 Gt. Grand, 12 Step Grand, and 26 Step Gt. Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents, 1st husband, daughter- Karen Ringler, 2 sisters – Maxine Sweet & Charlotte Zollinger, and 2 Brothers – Luther & Forrest “Jim” LeCount.
Visitation will be from 10:00 -12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at Calvary United Methodist Church 801 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 noon in the church with Pastor David Henry officiating. Burial will follow in the Syracuse Cemetery. Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN is in charge of arrangements.
