Obituary for
Ralph Myers
Ralph J. Myers, daddy, grandpa and hardworking Christian, passed away on Thursday, March 29th in Warsaw at 5:05 p.m. He was 88 years old at the time of his death.
Ralph was born on April 17, 1929 in Bristol, Indiana. He was the son of Eli and Mae Myers and, on September 24, 1960, he was united in marriage to Deanna Kuhn in Dunkirk, Indiana.
Ralph was a hardworking man, retiring in 1991 from Warsaw Plating Works after 42 years of dedicated service. He also worked for Don Weirich, helping with his gas station, his cab service and on the farm. He worked for Lakeside Chevrolet and managed Bibler Trailer Court, with his wife, for many years.
A veteran of the United States Army, Ralph was a member of American Legion, Post 49 and a longtime member of New Salem Church of the Brethren. He was a recycler and scrapper who always had a purpose for odds and ends. He enjoyed gardening, tending yard and reading. He also enjoyed camping, spending many weekends at River City Christian Campground in South Whitley and enjoying trips to Colorado and Florida.
Dearly missed but never forgotten, Ralph is survived by his two daughters: Bobbi (Garry) Barnes of Yellow Creek Lake and Penni Myers of Warsaw; one granddaughter, Amanda Myers (Alan Wireman) of Churubusco and seven grandsons: Jason Spore (Kylie Seaton) of Phoenix, AZ, Sean (Karrie) Spore of Winona Lake, Jeff (Loretta “Gabby”) Barnes of Lafayette, Brian (Amber) Barnes of Wanatah, Doug (Lindsay) Barnes of Jackson, TN, Brad Barnes of Claypool and Jacob (Sarah) Myers of Churubusco. He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren and a sister, Pat (Glenn) Goshorn of Fort Wayne.
Deanna Myers, Ralphs beloved wife of 57 years, preceded him in passing in September 2017. Also preceding him are three sisters: Lucy, Ruth and Maxine and two brothers: Art and Roy.
Friends may join family for visitation at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 East Sheridan Street, Warsaw, on Thursday, April 5th from 4 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will take place in the Funeral Home on Friday at 10 a.m. with burial following in North Webster Cemetery, Mock Addition. Pastor Tim Yoder will officiate the services.
