Ralph Richard Ruch, 85, Warsaw, formerly of Logansport, passed away Monday, September 11, 2023, in Grace Village Healthcare, surrounded by his family.
Born August 19, 1938, in Winamac, Indiana, he was the son of the late Harry Richard and Marie O. (Nimz) Ruch.
A 1956 graduate of Burnettsville High School, Ralph went on to serve his country in the United States Army.
On August 5, 1995, in the First United Methodist Church, he was married to Gerry (Yoder) Caughell Ruch, who survives.
Ralph retired from NIPSCO after 31-1/2 years as a gas repairman.
A member of the Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church, Ralph was a man of strong faith and a devoted Christian. His church and the extended family he found there were an important part of his life.
Ralph loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, golfing and camping. He was very family-oriented – a loving husband, father and grandpa who, with his dry-wit, was the “King of Dad Jokes.” Always there, always supportive, Ralph loved attending his children and grandchildren’s activities.
Surviving with his wife, Gerry, are his children: David Ruch, Palm Springs, Florida, Tina (Scott) Memmer, Lafayette, Bethany (Chris) Downs, Houghton, Michigan, Scott (Kylie) Caughell, Warsaw, and Matthew (Kim) Caughell, Summerville, South Carolina; one brother, Jerry (Frieda) Ruch, Pensacola, Florida; one sister, Carol (Tom) Willis, Logansport, and fourteen grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, September 15 in Fisher Funeral Chapel, Logansport. The funeral service celebrating Ralph’s life will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral chapel with Pastor Bruce Barlow officiating.
Burial, with full military rites will be held in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Ralph supported the Spanish World Ministries, Inc., a mission started by a church friend of his that sends God’s Word to Spanish-speaking countries, like Cuba. Memorial contributions may be made in Ralph’s memory to: El Camino de la Vida, P.O. Box 542, Winona Lake, IN 46590-0542.
Local arrangements were entrusted to Titus Funeral Home of Warsaw.
