Ralph W. Bradbury, 95, of Grace Village Retirement Community, Winona Lake, IN (formerly of North Webster, IN) went to be with the Lord at 12:56 a.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2019. He was born on July 22, 1923 in Danville, IL to Ralph W. and Katherine (Koehn) Bradbury, Sr.
During WWII, Ralph enlisted in the U.S. Navy Seabees and served in British West Indies, Philippines, and China. He married Grace Holcomb of Eldred, PA on May 28, 1956 in Chattanooga, TN and she survives.
He was a graduate of Moody Bible Institute, Chicago, IL, Tennessee Temple College, Chattanooga, TN, and University of Tennessee Graduate School. Ralph was employed with Hamilton County Juvenile Court, Chattanooga, TN from 1953-1969 as Detention Unit Superintendent and later Court Director. He later joined Moody Bible Institute, where he served as the Assistant Dean of Students for 22 years.
After retirement the family moved to North Webster, IN. Ralph was involved in the Calvary Baptist Church in Oswego, in civic programs, and was a member of Lakeland Kiwanis Club for several years. He especially loved his Lord & his family. He enjoyed all sports and coached basketball at M.B.I. and T.T.C.
Also surviving are a daughter - Mary Katherine “Kathy” (Kevin) Reed of Eau Claire, MI, son - Mark Stephen (Julie) Bradbury of Elburn, IL, 2 granddaughters - Rachael (husband, Mark) & Elizabeth, 5 grandsons - Thomas, Hunter, Philip, Conner, and David, 2 great grandchildren – Lyla & Paislee, and 2 sisters-in-law - Esther Kuhn, Hickory, NC & Dolores Holcomb, Smethport, PA.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents and brother - Rev. Robert D. Bradbury.
Visitation will take place from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Grace Village Assisted Living Life Center, 337 Grace Village Dr., Winona Lake, IN and 1 hour prior to services on Friday in the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 11, 2019 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & C.R. 500N, North Webster, IN with Chaplain Bryan Benjamin officiating. Burial will follow in the Mock Cemetery.
