Rex Evans

Rex Leroy Evans, 76, passed away February 10, 2015 at 4:26 AM in Warsaw Meadows Care Center, Warsaw, Indiana.
Rex was born December 31, 1938 in Warsaw to Charles S. and Dorothy A. (Engle) Evans. He was a 1956 graduate of Claypool High School.
On November 14, 1957 he entered the United States Air Force in Indianapolis, Indiana. A1C Rex Leroy Evans was honorably discharged November 13, 1963 through Lackland AFB, San Antonio, Texas.
He and Peggy J. Creger were joined in marriage February 19, 1984 in Warsaw. She would precede him in death on March 24, 2010.
Rex was a carpenter for Carpenter Local Union #615 for 35 years, retiring in 2002.
A lifetime Warsaw resident he was a member of the Warsaw American Legion Post 49 and Fraternal Order of Eagles. He enjoyed bowling and was a diehard Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan.
Survivors include daughter: Marie Evans of Fort Wayne, Indiana; son: Paul Evans, Warsaw; 5 step children: Patricia Jacobs, Robert (and Mary Beth) Shelton and Elaine (and Ron) Trumbull – all of Warsaw; Linda (and Tom) Stapleton of Lake City, Florida; and Sherry (and Leonard) Blanton of Rochester, Indiana; brother: Max Evans, Warsaw; 3 sisters: Phyllis Engle, Claypool; Evelyn (and Max) Julian, Warsaw; and Rita Hall, Warsaw.
In addition to his wife, Rex was preceded in death by a daughter: Brenda Evans on April 16, 2002 and a step daughter: Paula Meadows on September 19, 2010.
Family and friends will come together for a time of sharing in support of each other Thursday, February 12th from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 E. Sheridan Street, Warsaw, Indiana 46580. A service celebrating Rex’s life will take place Friday afternoon beginning at 1:00 PM with Rev. Bob Conelley of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, Warsaw, officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, where military honors will be conducted by Warsaw’s American Legion Post 49 and VFW Post 1126.
The family has asked that gifts in Rex’s memory be directed to Kosciusko Home Care and Hospice, PO Box 1196, Warsaw, Indiana 46581-1196.
