Richard Beeching

Richard W. “Dick” Beeching, 64, of Leesburg, IN passed away at 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 12, 2011 at his home. He was born on August 1, 1946 in Fort Wayne, IN to Charles I. & Elizabeth C. (Sanford) Beeching.
He grew up in Fort Wayne, graduated in 1964 from North Side High School in Fort Wayne, 1969 from Indiana University and received his Master’s Degree from Purdue University. He was married on April 6, 1968 in Pierceton, IN to R. Elaine Meeks who survives. He retired in 2005 from Indiana State Teachers Association as Uniserv Director in the South Bend Office.
He lived in South Bend most of his life, summered at Lake Tippecanoe and then moved to Leesburg (Lake Tippecanoe) upon retirement. He was a member of the Indiana University Alumni Association.
He is survived by:
Wife – Elaine Beeching of Leesburg
Daughter – Jennifer Beeching of Indianapolis, IN
Son – Spencer (wife, Sarah) Beeching of Cincinnati, OH
4 Grandchildren – Austin, Jackson, Lawson, & Ben
2 Sisters – Jeanette Troutner of Fort Wayne & Mrs. Larry (Joan) Thayer of Fort Wayne.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother – Charles L. Beeching.
Visitation will be from 2:00 – 4:00 & 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & CR 500N, North Webster, IN. Funeral services will be private family only at the funeral home with Rev. Matthew Leffler of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Fort Wayne officiating. Burial will take place in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Pierceton.

Memorial bequest may be given to Food Bank of Northern Indiana, 702 Chapin St., South Bend, IN 46601-2804 or No Kid Hungry in Summer, 1730 M St. NW, Suite 700, Washington, DC 20036. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
