Richard L. “Rich“ Mueller, 86, of North Webster, IN passed away at 5:18 p.m. on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at his home. He was born on November 10, 1925 in Chicago, IL to Herman Otto & Pearl Olive (Ryan) Mueller.
He attended high school in Chicago, IL and attended the University of Chicago. He was a United States W.W. II Navy Veteran and lived most of his life in Noble / Kosciusko County area, having moved to North Webster 30 years ago. He was married on August 26, 1977 to Carroll A. (Ott) Speaker who preceded him on September 3, 2009 and retired Dana Corp. in Syracuse after 32 years of service.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 253 in North Webster, V.F.W. in Syracuse and was a Purple Heart recipient.
He is survived by:
4 Daughters – Cathy Lewallen of Syracuse; Mrs. Rolly (Karen) Badorek of Syracuse; Mrs. Craig (Kay) Hardy of Leesburg; & Carol Rittershouse of Syracuse
Step Daughter – Mrs. Ron (Sue) Browning of Albion
6 Grand, 8 Gt. Grand, & 2 Gt. Gt. Grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 2 brothers – Ralph & Victor Mueller, & 2 step brothers – Delmar & Paul Sawyer.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. August 7, 2012 at the Salem Cemetery in Wilmot with Pastor Harlan Steffen of the Wawasee Lakeside Chapel officiating. Military rites will be performed by the North Webster American Legion Post 253.
