Richard Timmons Sr.

Richard L. “Rich” Timmons, 76, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 5:10 a.m. on Saturday, July 3, 2010 in Elkhart, IN. He was born on October 21, 1933 in Milford, IN to Ross R. & Edith M. (Stout) Timmons.
He was a lifetime Milford / Syracuse area resident and attended Milford Public Schools. He was married on July 9, 1954 in Sacramento, CA to Jayne M. Kline who survives. He retired from the Chevrolet Dealership in Syracuse several years ago and was a
G.M. Certified Auto Technician
. He was also a former co-owner / operator of Country Home Floral Shop on Huntington St. in Syracuse for many years.
He was a United States Air Force Veteran. He was a member of the Wawasee Heights Baptist Church in Syracuse and formerly attended the Christian Center Church in South Bend.
He is survived by:

Son- Gregory A. (wife, Pam) Timmons of Syracuse
3 Grandchildren – Brittney Timmons; Derek Timmons; & Krystina Ponder
4 Gt. Grandchildren – Max; Ethan; Gavin; & Isaac
4 Sisters – Donnabelle Yoder of Syracuse; Dorthea Stutzman & Phyllis Copenhaver both of Goshen; Frances Armey of Warsaw
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Richard L. Timmons Jr., 3 sisters – Mary Saal, Mildred Shafer, & Carolyn Timmons, 4 Brothers – Ross Leroy, Herbert, Robert & Donald Timmons.
A time of gathering for family and friends will be held from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 11, 2010 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. Memorial services will follow at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday in the funeral home with Rev. Brian Stutzman of the Abundant life Ministries in Elkhart officiating. Military rites will follow the services at the funeral home by the United States Air Force Honor Guard. A private family burial with take place in the Syracuse Cemetery.
Memorial bequest may be given to Goshen Care at Home Hospice, P.O. Box 723, Goshen, IN 46526. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
