Richard D. Gaerte

Richard D. Gaerte Sr., 69, of Pierceton, IN passed away at 1:02 a.m. on Monday, June 13, 2016 at I.U. Goshen Hospital in Goshen, IN. He was born on November 3, 1946 in Wolf Lake, IN to Forrest & Eileen (Fetters) Gaerte.

He was a lifetime area resident and attended North Webster High School. He was married on April 12, 1975 in Wilmot, IN to Maria I. Delacruz who survives. He was a lifelong truck driver and retired after 52 years.

He was affiliated with the Country Bible Church in North Webster.

He is survived by:

Wife – Maria Gaerte of Pierceton

2 Daughters – Misty Gaerte of Pierceton, IN & Roxanne Kammer of Daleville, IN

4 Grandchildren- Jeramiah, Nathan, Kyle, and Jessica

2 Gt. Grandchildren

6 Sisters – Mary Lou (Larry) Leamon of Wolf Lake, IN, Dora Mae Clingerman of Pierceton, Judy (Charles) Meservey of Pierceton, Roma Earl of Warsaw, Jean (Jim) Prescott of Warsaw, and Becky (Dave) Bushong of Houston, TX

He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sons – Richard D. Gaerte Jr, & Anthony D. Gaerte.

Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd 13 & CR 500N, North Webster, IN and 1 hour prior to services on Thursday. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at the funeral home with Pastor Myron Drent of the church officiating. Burial will follow in the Salem Cemetery at Wilmot, IN.
