Richard L. "Dutch" Davis

Richard Lee "Dutch" Davis, 95, of Mentone, IN passed away at 3:00 a.m. on Friday, August 9, 2019 at his residence. He was born on March 19, 1924 in Athens, IN to Harvey & Fay (Kamp) Davis.

He was a lifetime Kosciusko County area resident, graduated in 1942 from Akron High School, and was a United States Marine veteran. He was married on March 1, 1947 in Fort Wayne, IN to Eileen Joan Study who preceded him on November 14, 2008. He was formerly employed with the Carpenter’s Union # 413 in South Bend as a tile setter.

He was a member of the American Legion Post #49 in Warsaw, Fraternal Order of Eagles in Rochester, and V.F.W. Post 1341 in Rochester.

He is survived by:

2 Daughters – Rainelle (Terry) Dowell of Mentone & Leslie (Charles) Jarvis of Green Valley, AZ

Son – Jeffrey Davis of Claypool

6 Grand & 11 Great Grandchildren

Brother – Marvin (Nora) Davis of Warsaw

He was preceded in death by his parents, son - Michael Davis, 2 sisters – Juanita Plunkett & Mildred Creager, brother – Francis Davis, and infant brother – Dever Davis.

Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County 4356 N. St. Rd. 15 Warsaw, IN. No public services will be held.

Preferred memorials may be given to the Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County, 3489 E. 100S, Pierceton, IN 46562.
