Ricky R. Richardson, 49, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 12:08 p.m. on May 17, 2012 at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN. He was born on November 16, 1962 in Michigan City, IN to Russell Roy & Dorothy A. (Gouplski) Richardson.
He was a lifetime area resident and attended Wawasee High School in Syracuse. He was employed at J.C. Manufacturing in North Webster for the past 14 years and was formerly employed at R & S Boats in Rome City, Hoosier Hot Rods in Syracuse, & Dewart Lake Marina.
He is a member of the Eagles Lodge in Syracuse, Busting Loose Four Wheelers, was a volunteer fireman in Syracuse for 15 years, race car driver at New Paris Speedway, & formerly affiliated with ABATE of Indiana.
He is survived by:
Daughter – Jessica (fiancée, Tyler Beery) Richardson of Syracuse
Son – Austin Richardson of Syracuse
1 Granddaughter – Makayla Beery
4 Sisters – Mrs. Tom (Norma) Peters of Syracuse; Mrs. Robert (Debra) Rector of Pierceton, Mrs. Mark (Denise) Mast of New Paris, & Deanna Schisler of Syracuse
4 Half Brothers – Tom Prybo of Tucson, AZ, Rusty Richardson, Jimmy Richardson, & Dukie Richardson all of South Bend
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 2:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. A walk thru will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday in the funeral home by the Syracuse Volunteer Fire Dept. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 21, 2012 at the funeral home with Rev. Harlan Steffen of the Wawasee Lakeside Chapel officiating. Burial will follow in the Syracuse Cemetery.
