Robert E. "Bob" Anderson, 63, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 2:05 AM in the Marion V.A. Hospital, Marion, Indiana.
Bob was born July 1, 1950 in Warsaw, Indiana to Wesley R. and Dorothy (Hamman) Anderson. He was a 1968 graduate of Warsaw High School, Warsaw, Indiana.
He entered the United States Army August 29, 1969 and served 2 tours in Viet Nam. SP4 Robert Eugene Anderson was honorably discharged May 15, 1970 from Fort Hood, Texas.
By trade Bob was trained and licensed in heating, air conditioning and refrigeration. He lived and worked for several years in the Warsaw area after returning from the service. Bob spent the last 15 years maintaining several apartment buildings with KP Rental Properties in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
He enjoyed working with his hands and spending time with his friends.
Survivors include his sister and brother-in-law: Sue and Jim Sonnefield of Marion, Indiana; 2 nephews and their wives of Silver Lake, Indiana: Jon and Amy Newell and Brian and Theresa Newell; 2 nieces: Amanda Sonnefield and Lauren Sonnefield - both of Marion; several cousins, great nieces and nephews and many friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his father, Wesley Anderson (February 11, 1984), mother, Dorothy Anderson, (February 5, 2006) and sister, Barbara Wineland, (February 28, 2013).
Family and friends will gather for a time of sharing in support of each other Wednesday, October 9th from 12 noon until 1:30 PM at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. A service celebrating the life of Robert E. Anderson will begin at 1:30 PM in the funeral home with his brother-in-law, Pastor Jim Sonnefield of Lakeview Wesleyan Church, Marion, officiating.
Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, where military honors will be conducted by Warsaw's American Legion Post #49 and VFW Post #1126.
The family has asked the gifts in memory of Bob be directed to Cancer Services of Grant County, 305 S. Norton Street, Marion, Indiana 46952 or they me be given to the favorite organization or cause of the donor.
