Robert F. "Bob" Green, 70, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 5:45 AM in his Syracuse, Indiana home.
Bob was born July 3, 1943 in Battle Creek, Michigan to Paul and Georgene (Wallen) Green. He lived for many years in Milford, Indiana before moving to Syracuse 2 years ago.
Bob served with the United States Army and the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War where he was a mechanic. He retired July 3, 2003 from his service through the National Guard.
Bob was a self employed truck driver retiring in 1996.
He was a member of the Syracuse VFW. In his younger years, Bob raced stock cars. He enjoyed golf and participated in league bowling. He was an avid University of Michigan football fan and loved to fish. His faith was important to him as was his attendance at Warsaw Community Church. Both his son and daughter agree that he was an amazing father and grandfather.
He will be lovingly remembered by his son and daughter-in-law: Robert and Brandi Green of North Webster, Indiana; daughter and son-in-law: Robin and Earl Beezley of Syracuse; 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; 2 brothers: Daniel Green and Ronald Green; and sister, Kathy Green. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends will gather for a time of sharing in support of each other Wednesday, March 12th from 11 AM - 1 PM at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. A service celebrating Bob's life will begin at 1 PM with Pastor E.J. Underwood of Warsaw Community Church officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Milford. Graveside honors will be conducted by the Syracuse VFW.
