Robert "Bob" Lockhart, passed away at the age of 74 on April 8, 2024, at his rural Larwill home. He was born on January 10, 1950, in St Ignace, Michigan to Reginald and Jane (Mangene) Lockhart. Bob spent over twenty years as a pier installer, dedicating his hard work mostly to Sudlow Pier Shop and later Rookstool's Pier Shop.
Having grown up in Upper Peninsula Michigan, Bob attended schools in Cedarville, MI before eventually settling in Indiana in the late 1970s. A man of quiet Christian faith, he was described as a loving and kind individual who never met a stranger.
Bob proudly served in the United States Army. His service included operating a tank in Vietnam as part of an Armed Division and later while stationed in Germany. He was wounded and awarded a Purple Heart before his honorable discharge. He was also a former member of the American Legion, Post 253, North Webster.
In his leisure time, Bob enjoyed various hobbies such as fishing - whether it be trips to Canada and in Michigan or around the lakes near his home. He also found joy in camping and mushroom hunting, embracing the tranquility of nature.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Kathy Lockhart; daughter Lisa Lockhart (and her children, Austin Lockhart & Aubrey Nyhart) of Hessel, MI; two step-sons: Nate (Jeneyln) Bryan (and their sons, Ethan & Aiden Bryan) of North Webster and Tom (Tracy) Bryan (and their son, Drake Bryan) of Las Vegas, NV; brother Everett Lockhart; sisters: Penny Hepler, Joy Lockhart, & Lois Plank and by a large extended family including many nieces and nephews.
Titus Funeral Home, 8056 East 500 North, North Webster, is entrusted with the services for Bob. Friends may gather at the funeral home on Saturday, April 13, 2024 from 1 to 3p.m. Beginning at 3 p.m. Members of the United States Army and of American Legion, Post 253 will pay their respects with Military Honors.
