Robert Curtis Nissen passed away at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne on March 6, 2024. Known to most as "Bob," but to those who loved him the most knew him as "husband ,“ “dad,” and “grandpa” he was 76 years old at the time of his passing.
Bob was born in Morris, Minnesota on June 7, 1947 he was the son of Harry and Viola (Neeseman ) Nissen. He was survived by the love of his life Karen ( Brethorst ) whom he was married to for 56 years.
Professionally, Bob dedicated many years to service with BP Oil (formerly SOHIO) Spending most of his career in logistics scheduling specialized materials. More personally, Bob is remembered for his strong exterior with the softest most generous heart. He loved traveling the world with his wife and friends, giving back to his church and community but above all else he loved spending time with his family. From Minnesota, Utah, Turkeyfoot Lake and everywhere in between, everyone will remember Bob in one of his many signature hats, holding a scotch with the warmest smile.
In addition to his wife, Karen Nissen, he is survived by daughter: Michelle (Chad) Stavrou of Warrenville, IL; three grandchildren: Zachery, Taylor and Emma; two great-grandchildren: Carson and Cameron and three siblings: Kenny, Richard and Ruth. He was preceded in passing by his parents.
Titus Funeral Home is entrusted with care of Bob and the Nissen-Stavrou-Sand family. No services are planned as part of Bob’s last wishes. The family will both grieve and celebrate his life privately.
