Robert W. “Wayne” Rash, 52, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 4:55 a.m. on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at Goshen General Hospital. He was born on December 23, 1957 in Abingdon, VA to Robert Watson & Iva Dean Rash.
He attended Abingdon High School and moved to Syracuse in the mid 1980’s from Abingdon, VA. He was married on January 28, 1994 in Warsaw, IN to Brenda L. (Hatfield) Bess who survives. He was employed at Forest River in Goshen for 13 years and formerly employed at Keystone RV in Goshen & Starcraft RV in Topeka.
He was a member of the Wawasee Bowling League in Syracuse and formerly attended the Emanuel Baptist Church in Abingdon, VA.
He is survived by:
Wife – Brenda Rash of Syracuse
4 Daughters – Samantha Jo Rash of Syracuse; Melissa Steele of Kokomo; Amanda Steele of Kokomo; & Emily Rash of Dayton, OH
2 Step Sons – Warren Bess Jr. of Syracuse & George Bess of Syracuse
10 Grandchildren – Jermiah, Nathan, Xander, Demetri, Hailey, Riley, Brandon, Julian, Jaelynn, & Carlie;
Grandmother – Viola Rash of Abington, VA
2 Sisters – Lisa Rowe of Kingsport, TN & Donna Rosenbaum of Abingdon, VA
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 2:00 - 4:00 & 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday July 2, 2010 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN 46567. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 3, 2010 in the funeral home with Rev. John Modesitt of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Syracuse officiating. Burial will follow in the Syracuse Cemetery.
