Roberta B. Sowers

Roberta B. Sowers, 89, of Indianapolis, IN (formerly of Leesburg, IN) passed away at 10:15 p.m. on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at Kosciusko Community Hospital. She was born on July 7, 1923 in Claypool, IN to Percy King & Florence N. (Cozens) Perkins.

She graduated in 1943 from Warsaw High School and was married on March 1, 1944 in Warsaw, IN to Everett G. Sowers who survives. She moved from Valparaiso, IN to Warsaw in 1952, then to the Leesburg area in 1968 before moving to Indianapolis earlier this year. She retired in 1985 from Depuy in Warsaw after 33 years of service.

She was a member of North Webster United Methodist Church, Lakeland Quilt Club in North Webster, and Stripper Rippers Quilting Club.

She is survived by:
Husband – Everett Sowers of Indianapolis
2 Sons – Steve (wife, Rita) Sowers of Indianapolis & Randy (wife, Joyce) of Mishawaka
5 Grand & 7 Gt. Grandchildren
Sister – Mrs. Blaine (Esther) Sowers of Fort Wayne
Brother – Wesley (wife, Billie) Perkins of Andrews

She was preceded by her parents, sister – Beatrice Reiber, 3 brothers – Lloyd, Bud, & Forrest Perkins.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & C.R. 500N, North Webster. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday at Oakwood Cemetery, 421 N. Maple Ave, Warsaw, IN with Pastor David Smitley of the North Webster United Methodist Church officiating.

Memorial bequest may be given to the North Webster United Methodist Church, 7822 E. Epworth Forest Rd., North Webster, IN 46555. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
