Robert James Carr

Robert James “Bob” Carr, 94, of North Webster, IN passed away at 2:05 a.m. on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at Mason Healthcare & Rehab in Warsaw, IN. He was born on September 17, 1925 in Montpelier, IN to Everett & Margaret (Bales) Carr.

He grew up in Muncie, IN and graduated in 1943 from Muncie Central High School. He was married on June 26, 1948 in Muncie, IN to Mary E. Gibson who preceded him on July 7, 1996. He retired in 1974 from Delco Battery in Muncie, IN after 30 years of service. In 1975 he moved to Delton, MI where he lived for 40 years before moving to North Webster in 2014.

He attended the St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Syracuse and was a former member of the St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Delton, MI.

He is survived by:

Daughter – Deea (Rick) Vester of North Webster

2 Sons – Robert (Linda) Carr II of Mentone, IN & Fred Carr of Elkhart

12 Grand, 13 Gt. Grand, and 4 Gt. Gt. Grandchildren

Brother – Gene Carr of Muncie

Sister – Phyllis Keeler of Muncie

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and son – Dean Carr.

Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 28, 2019 at St. Martin’s Catholic Church, 6941 E. Waco Dr., Syracuse, IN. A funeral mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Monday in the church with Fr. Andrew Nazareth officiating. Graveside services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at Prairieville Cemetery in Prairieville, MI. Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd 13 & CR 500N, North Webster, IN is in charge of arrangements.
