Robert Keith “Bob” Hullinger, 81, of North Webster, IN passed away at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday January 4, 2011 at his home. He was born on January 16, 1929 in Huntington, IN to Mahlon Henry & Josie Mae (Cloud) Hullinger.
He graduated in 1947 from Huntington High School and was a member of the basketball team that played in the Final Four of the Indiana High School Basketball Tournament.
On June 19, 1948 in Huntington, IN he married Jane Ann Jacobs who survives. In 1948 he was awarded a basketball scholarship to attend Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. and graduated in 1952 with a Bachelor’s Degree in physical education.
He began his teaching career at Wayne Township High School in Lafontaine, IN and then taught for three years at Jefferson Township School in Warren, IN. He joined the Bluffton, IN school system in 1956 and in 1962 completed work on his Master’s Degree in school administration at Ball State University. He coached tennis at Bluffton for 10 years and served as assistant principal for one year before becoming the Junior High School principal in July 1966. In 1981 he became administrative assistant to the superintendent and served in that capacity until his retirement in 1990. Upon his retirement he moved to Webster Lake permanently from Bluffton, IN.

Daughter – Mrs. Stanley (Rebecca Kaye) Worthman of Ossian
3 Sons - Robert K. Hullinger Jr. of Marion; John M. (wife, Julie) of Angola; & Thomas A. Hullinger of Corpus Christi, TX
10 grand & 9 great grandchildren
Sister – Mrs. Milton (Roberta) Rupley of South Whitley
He was preceded in death by his parents and son - William J. Hullinger in 1992.
There will be no viewing or services per his request. Private family burial will take place at the Pilgram Rest Cemetery in Huntington, IN at a later date.
