Robert L. "Bob" Dust

Robert L. “Bob” Dust, 90, of Goshen, IN (formerly of Syracuse, IN) passed away at 10:32 a.m. on Friday, February 21, 2020 at the Maples of Waterford Crossing in Goshen. He was born on January 28, 1930 in Chicago, IL to Fred C. & Esther J.B. (Hedin) Dust.

He moved to Syracuse in 1942 from Chicago, IL, graduated in 1948 from Syracuse High School, and was a United States Army veteran. He was the former o-owner & operator of Dust & Son Decorators for 47 ½ years as a painter and formerly was employed with Liberty Coach in Syracuse. He moved to Goshen in 2017.

He was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 223 in Syracuse, Disabled Veterans in Goshen, Eagles Lodge #3760 in Syracuse, and National Korean War Veterans.  He attended the Calvary United Methodist Church in Syracuse and was a former member of the. V.F.W. #1342 in Syracuse.

He is survived by:

2 Nieces – Robin (Leo) Youngs of Syracuse & Vicky Mortimer of Ft. Wayne

Nephew – Danny Dust of Columbus, OH

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister – Darlene J. Mortimer, brother - Fred C. Dust III, and lifetime companion – June Baker.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday in the funeral home with Pastor David Henry officiating. Burial will take place in the Syracuse Cemetery with military graveside rites by the Syracuse American Legion.
